Since you’re a new blog, give it time first. It took like a week to start gaining followers.
Here are my tips:
- tag your posts. Example : I always tag my posts with “facts,” “movies,” and “movie facts.” And I tag the movie title. It’s something that is searched for. I know that I have searched for those kind of things before.
- Don’t expect followers. Run the blog because you enjoy your subject. Not because you want to be “Tumblr famous.” I made my blog because I love movies, and love reading up on facts. So, in essence, this blog is for me. Not for anyone else. Everyone else just gets to enjoy it. (Sorry guys).
- Be patient.
Just enjoy your blog. And be patient. Don’t be discouraged. All of that good stuff. You’ve only had one day. That’s not enough time to say that “nothing [has] really happened…”
I’m actually starting to work on a “Master post” if you will. Something that I’ll update (hopefully) weekly and will link to on the side bar or something.
It is something that has crossed my mind since I get so many requests for the same movie. There’s only so many times I want to make Harry Potter related ones and what not.
But yes! There will be a post eventually dedicated to what movies I have done, and I will attempt to link to them as well. It’ll hopefully be done before I finish the IMDB 250 list.
The list can be found here.
From IMDB.com:
The formula for calculating the Top Rated 250 Titles gives a true Bayesian estimate:
weighted rating (WR) = (v ÷ (v+m)) × R + (m ÷ (v+m)) × C
where:
R = average for the movie (mean) = (Rating)
v = number of votes for the movie = (votes)
m = minimum votes required to be listed in the Top 250 (currently 3000)
C = the mean vote across the whole report (currently 6.9)
For the Top 250, only votes from regular voters are considered.
How I’m doing the facts:

Why am I doing this?
1. Because my wonderful boyfriend supports my movie obsession and suggested it and I liked the idea.
2. It gives me something to do.
3. Why not?
4. More variety.
You are still more than welcome to send your requests to my ask. I’ll still make them! They may already be on the 250 list. If not, I’ll still see them, and make them afterwards. I won’t delete any requests unless it’s on the 250 list.
I (obviously) do not own IMDB.com, and the logo and Top 250 list is Copyright © 1990-2011 IMDb.com, Inc.
